'Save and Finish' button does nothing when saving product

Hi there, as per the above, when I click ‘Save and Finish’ it loads as if it’s completing and then nothing happens.

I’m not receiving error messages and I’ve waited a day and tired again, but to no success.

Any ideas? Contacted Help, but so far, no help.

Many thanks,

What are you trying to save?

New product? Product edit? price?

You may not receive an error message - but often a box will go red for invalid entry.
Check each tab and all boxes to make sure none are outlined in red.
Sometimes the system expects an entry for a box that has nothing to do with what you are selling (ive been forced to make entries for batteries when selling clothing in the past).
The user interface is very poorly designed and often throws up irregularities like this.
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and upload via a flat file instead as the only way to get round it.

In Fashion the listing tool for Variations is broken for some categories. If you press the Save and Finish button then you just get a circle and then nothing saves and it just goes back to the Save and Finish button.

This maybe impacting other categories but in Fashion it is a real problem. The only way to list is via a file upload.

One of the mods (think it was @Maja_Amazon) had reported this further up the chain for a resolution.

Ahh yes - Ive given up on using the UI for creating/adding variations
It often says an attribute is needed even though you have entered the attribute. Or it reports invalid entry when you have selected an entry from the menu offered!

You want the Catalogue option not Inventory

Yes - use a flat file.- and Amazon do not make this easy with half the info in one area and the rest in another area

Assuming you want to create a Parent listing with several children which are already in catalogue

Goto Catalogue - Add Products - Create variations using variation wizard
this gives instructions as to how and what to do - but now you need to download the appropriate template

Goto Catalogue - Add Products via Upload - select ‘Download spreadsheet’ tab at top of screen - Get Product Template
Follow prompts to choose site listed, category, etc and eventually you will get a file to download

Open file, follow instructions from ‘Create variations using variation wizard’ and the instructions in the template itself to create the relationships

Hold breath and upload via
Catalogue - Add Products via Upload - Select ‘Upload your spreadsheet’ tab and follow prompts

Good luck

In my experience of this happening (not fashion) it has been about brand ownership - Even though everything looks like I have full control - correct brand etc - the system doesn’t think so.
So far as, if I contact support to try to get them to change something instead I get one email to say they have contacted the brand owner, and then a second email to say I have been contacted to make changes to my listings…
Solution so far has been to delete listing - re-upload 24+ hrs later using flat file with the minimum required info, making sure the identifier is linked to the brand correctly (EAN or ASIN etc), I can then use seller central to totally update the listing in a clear sensible way - unlike the flat file which will ask what voltage the box of nails is…

Hopefully there is at least a clue in there to what may help you - that’s what I’ve worked out from the snippets of correct information support have given over the past 6 months or so…

Sometimes, we have a variation on the list under the parent listing, that also shows in red, due to an error somewhere on that particular variation. is this happening with you?

What I do it tick that variation box and click ‘delete selected’ - this doesn’t actually delete the variation from inventory, but it does allow the variation affected to be greyed out and then it allows to save and finish.

I then go a fix that variation from the child listing directly.

Sometimes (very often recently) all boxes are filled in, no red errors anywhere but it still won’t ‘save and finish’ so the feed file is the only way around this.

Totally agree that there are many ‘bugs’ in the system that seller support are not equipped to deal with.

The upload feeds very often come back with attributes that need to be filled in, but were not ‘red’ on the sheet to indicate this. It is a lot of trial and error.

Hi, I have had the same problem. The recommendation is a file upload. Amazon do not have a solution when file upload fails as far as I know.

No, we list in a variety of categories. The most recent issue I found with this was as follows.
We have a UK listing which works fine. However when I created the Amazon Germany version, I had the “cannot save” issue.
