Changing SKU. Really Amazon?
I’m fuming.
So I’ve just been talking to Amazon, because I was under the impression I could contact them if I wanted my seller SKU for an item changed and they are telling me no.
Sales are now building on this product and there’s a typo in the SKU, one digit is wrong which means the wrong product is going to be picked and packed by staff unless I explicitly tell them or add a note to each order.
It is completely beyond me, why in the first place we cannot edit our SKUs as we wish, and for support to actually tell me to delete the listing and start again… I just have no words for it. Incredibly asinine. Support frequently stated that it is Amazons policy that prevents her from doing this. Maybe Amazon policy needs to be reviewed. Surely telling all sellers that made a mistake to abandon their sales history and start again is damaging to Amazons larger goals.
In a nutshell I need to know how to change a SKU on an ASIN without losing any of the sales history, reviews etc.

You can create a new listing against that product page same ASIN with the correct SKU, then delete the old (incorrect) one.

just add a new condition with the correct SKU., put stock to that new SKU and remove old one.
