Forum Threads with Nested Replies
As suggested by @Ange_Amazon I am resurrecting a topic that has been discussed in the past. As we all know, trying to follow long threads with the nested replies is almost impossible, and a much better format would be to simply put in order of posting.
As mentioned by @Seller_RAXEWLxQ2dbmN : "is there any chance that Amazon will change this forum back to the format where all posts are shown in order of posting without nested replies? It was hinted at here in the past by various moderators that this would happen but nothing has changed. This thread has now reached a length where it is impossible to easily follow the direction of the conversation." - I 100% agree with this.
@Ange_Amazon also suggested that those in agreement do an upvote - I guess so they can monitor the response - either for or against a better format for the forum. Another suggestion Ange, would be to have a category for new discussions that includes forum - as absolutely NONE of the headings were appropriate for this new thread !! - I just had to pick at random !

It was incredibly difficult to find a reply that I was trying to see by clicking on the notification. When a thread shows at the top of the list as recently updated, there are times I go through the entire thread twice and still can't find a message more recent than several days ago.
Sort this out, Amazon! It's gone on far too long already.

Could we also add...
Setting the default view of all discussions, and posts to "Latest Activity" rather than "Recommended"
Recommended by whom?
The most recent posts needing help, or those with the the most regular contributions, will always stay closer to the top that way.
But also, as @Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGidsaid..., stop counting 'views' or 'likes' as Activity

I obviously agree!
The forums as they stand make longer threads almost impossible to follow. Conversations about important topics attract large numbers of posters but the nested replies format disrupts the flow and the chronological order is lost.
Even the most basic 'free forums'/'bulletin boards' have better formats than this one.

Hi JillyB,
Could we perhaps have a button at the top of a thread that takes us to 'latest post' and opens the nested responses in that part thread...
Would that be better for coherence and continuity?
If it could be done... Amazon already monitor the timing of the latest message...
All Best

I entirely agree.
I would go further than just getting rid of the nested replies. I would suggest that the whole forum is a complete mess. My fear is that the forum is EXACTLY as amazon want it - simply to make it difficult for sellers to have a proper debate on issues of concern.
My suggestion would be simply to revert to the previous forum format ( or the one before that)
I get the distinct impression that the numbers of sellers using this forum are steadily decreasing. In the old days some of the issues that have arisen in the last 12 months would generate threads with many hundreds of replies.

They could, of course, allow @Seller_EJIX7rqDNQJi2 to come back to the forum. Oh, I forget, she is banned for life. Ridiculous!

I agree, but it would also be helpful to have a notification system when someone receives a reply, either by email, as it used to be, or as an alert on the Seller Centre dashboard. I often see posts that eventually get responses, but the original poster probably never sees them. Most users check the forum for a day or two and then move on, yet replies often come later.

The only way that I have found is to reply on a mobile device.

I wonder if Amazon will ever address this issue?
