Amazon fee too high fba

Hi every one. I newly launched a product with a sale fee of £10.99. Amazon are taking over £7.00 from me for the combined fee. Has this happened to anyone and also is this correct as it’s is way too high.

Thanks,

Surely this is something that you checked BEFORE you sent any inventory to them?

Nobody can tell you what the fee should be for your item, without knowing sizes etc. You need to look at the FBA rate card and work it out.

In addition to the other comments, you should check whether you have accepted orders from the other EU sites. The fulfilment fees for using EFN are around double as a general rule.

What is the European Fulfilment Network?

The European Fulfilment Network (EFN) allows sellers with an Amazon Europe Marketplaces account who are also registered for Fulfilment by Amazon to store their inventory in their local fulfilment centre, and fulfil orders coming from other European marketplaces from the same local inventory pool, maximising the control and flexibility that sellers have over their inventory.

Edit - if you want to post an ASIN i’m sure someone will check the fees.

Thanks for your responses. I did check the rate prior to shipping. The measurements are length 42cm width 35cm height 6cm. The size guide does not indicate this would be a £7.20 fee. Thoughts welcomed please.

If a European buyer buys the same item you’ll likely be in the hole for around £5. You should familiarise youreslf with the charges vs weigt vs size vs destination. There are so many variables it is a minefield and not possible to hellp you specifically without going through ASIN by ASIN.

Over £7.00 is correct, here’s the breakdown:

The item is “Small Oversize”, weight 0.94 kg + 240g for packaging = 1.18kg so £4.55 fba fee
You also have Amazon commission @ 15.3% which is £1.68
So £4.55 + £1.68 = £6.23
Plus VAT @20% = £1.25
So £6.23 + £1.25 = £7.48 Total

Don’t forget that Amazon commission is variable depending on the selling price and will increase if you increase the selling price.

I hope this helps.

Yes I fell in the same pit. Checked prior using Amazon fba calculator and also under manage inventory the estimated fees diaplayed were way lower than what was actually charged.

Another problem was orders are not displayed on the dashboard, if you are lucky and dive deeper you may find sales have actually been made.

I found sales were made in others countries, which is almost double the charges. My S.P was £15 and got back around £5. Realised holiday settings won’t stop sales in other countries, only works for Merchant delivered. So to stop this, deactivate BIL (bill international listings) type in search bar to find out more.

Thank you all for your advice. Amazon have now amended the fee and provided a reimbursement of fees for all previous orders. The fee was not correct.
