"You need approval to list Ointment products." Food Salt Products
Hi,
We have a lot of Himalayan Salt items listed, all of which we created ourselves, our own EAN’s etc, and selected the “Food Cupboard › Herbs, Spices & Seasonings › Salt” Category when we created the listings.
We have been in and edited them before without any issues. Today we have received Organic Status for our Himalayan Salt Items, so we need to edit the images, item title’s and description’s.
We are getting this message:
“You need approval to list Ointment products.
Collectable, Refurbished, Used conditions:
You cannot list the product in this condition.”
I don’t understand how Food Salt can even be remotely “ointment” but there you go. And the conditions are of course all New.
I have contacted Seller Support but not had anything back as of yet.
Has anyone else seen anything similar to this? I am worried it is going to stop our sales of the affected items.

Pink Himalayan salt is also used in pharmaceutical purposes for muscle relaxation, amazons catalogue is patrolled by Bots and it has probably read Himalayan Salt and “assumed” it is the pharmaceutical version not the food additive.

To make matters worse, they have now marked our Best Selling items “inactive” ! While they’re looking into it

I applied for this category literally 20 minutes ago and got approved instantly.
Have you tried just clicking on the “Request approval” button?
If you have been selling on Amazon for years, you will most likely get approved as soon as you click on the button because of your performance history.
