Listing new product not sold on Amazon

Hi there,

New seller here!

Just a quick question, I am sourcing a fairly generic product from a manufacturer in China that is not currently sold on Amazon.

  1. Do I need to assign and create and new EAN number for my product?
  2. In item name aka title, these are not my listing keyword relevant title terms I assume?
  3. Brand name, is this the name I am selling under in Amazon?
  4. Manufacturer, am I the manufacturer? Who do I put in this section?
  5. Manufacturer part number, what do I enter here?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes, you need to get a bar code from GS1. Alternatives can technically be used but hold risk. Do some reading on this.

This is for the customer, it will have some keywords but is about making the product appealing and factually correct. Look at Seller University into what is allowed.

You can use anything here that is not already been branded. You have to be careful here but a good start would be your seller ID or something that is a 1 off. Being here will not make it a brand of course and can be copied; though is doubtful unless you become successful overnight.

Either a name provided by the factory (shortened) or the same as above.

Supplied by the manufacturer but it is technically possible to put anything.
