Restricted Items
We started selling insuiln syringes with needles on Amazon and had 2 weeks of really good sales and feedback and then our listing was removed.
We sell other items on Amazon on prime so sent off some Insulin syringes to be FBA prior to being removed and we even asked if it was ok to send them. That stock is now stranded inventory at Amazon.
We did not know it was a restricted item until that moment because there were many other sellers selling similar products.
We were banned from selling for 3 days so could anyone tell me why there are other listings for Insulin syringes with needles on Amazon that are prime, despatched from the UK, but have never been removed?
Totally confused by this.
is there some way we can apply to sell them?
We already sell other medical supplies.

I believe the correct category is under ‘health and personal care’, then ‘medical equipment’ which as I understand is a category that needs approval in advance of listing?
How did you manage to list without approval, did you use another product category to circumvent the rules, if so may explain the 3 day suspension?

Hypodermic needles are prohibited for sale on Amazon. That’s been the case for a couple of years now. So it looks like the bots tracked down your listing and sh*tcanned it. It’s a ludicrous rule - needles are perfectly legal for sale - but for whatever reason, Amazon decided to ban them. It affected us too - we lost one of our best-selling lines as a result of this decision.
You can’t apply for approval to sell needles - they’re prohibited full-stop, even for sellers with general approval to sell in the medical categories. I imagine the bots will catch up with the other listings you mention eventually.

I really wonder why anyone would buy insulin syringes and needles, as if you are an insulin-dependent diabetic they are all supplied on prescription.
…I guess people buy them for other uses !
