    seller address change concern

    Hi, I might be moving, but while I wait for my electricity/water bill and bank statement for my new address to update and notify Amazon, I'm worried about Amazon's automatic address verification showing my old address. That's why I'm hesitant about moving. What can I do to prevent this?

    I would be very grateful if you could help me with this.

    When you move leave it a little while before you notify Amazon of the move. You will need proof that you are at the new address and it can take a little while.

    If you are moving into a new business premises they do take invoices from your landlord as proof of new address, I used this when we moved at the start of the year.

    If you are based from home then you will need to wait until you have an acceptable bill/letter showing your new home address.

    For the short time you are still using your old address on Amazon I wouldn't worry about it but update it as soon as you have the relevant documents. Don't be tempted to update it early without the correct documents as this could impact your account.

    Depending on your bank, you can change your address on their app. This will only take 24 hours to update. Then request a statement from them - ideally sent by email - which will have your new address.

    When you move, Amazon spot it fast and it can be an issue getting right dcuments. Hardest (for me) was credit card statetments. Make sure you change at least one credit card asap as it will take a month for them to produce a statement with the new address on it. Make sure that card is in same name as all your other Amazon details. Council tax gas and elec tend to send ut paperwork in a couple weeks and athough not a bill, itcan be used as proof of address. Most important thing really...make sure everything matches. The one exception to that really is photo ID, mine is driving license registered to parents house, they were fine with that address being different as Iwas just showing who i was for the vid verification. Have everything to hand, you will be asked to hold it up to camera as well as submitting copies
