UPS bill and unauthorized charges
Been noticing charges on our UPS bills the past few weeks, a few hundred $$ per billing cycle for shipments that are not ours. You should check every tracking number.
Here is the response from UPS.
Fraudsters are creating counterfeit labels that appear as authorized UPS labels using random number sequencing. These counterfeit labels can unintentionally match a valid UPS shipper account; unfortunately, your account received these charges.
This fraudulent label was created outside of the UPS organization and our systems. Once created, they can either ship goods using those labels or resell them fraudulently. At UPS, protecting your account information is very important to us. We use sophisticated measures to help safeguard your account number from unauthorized use. UPS will also work with you to help investigate any shipping charge irregularities you encounter and take appropriate action, including the removal of incorrectly assigned charges.
Therefore, since your account is not really compromised but charged randomly, we recommend you report any unrecognized charges.
