Making FBA a full time job
I am after some insight from those who have made the leap to make Amazon FBA their main source of income.
It is something I am striving to do, however I am constantly plagued by the thought that Amazon can deactivate my account or come up with any other policy measure that could destroy my business and livelihood in an instant.
Even with Account Health Assurance and a strong account health, it is something I cannot get away from thinking as a huge risk and a main barrier to doing this full tme.
For those who have made FBA their primary source of income, how has it been and how have you managed the ongoing risk that Amazon could pull the plug on your business at any time?

Retirement sideline for me,100% FBA for the last 12 yrs despite occasional grief like verifications I dont have a real problem with Amazon(no other platforms) & managed to keep a 30% net margin throughout my time here.

I tried to do it this year, after selling FBA for 8 years, I decided to leave my career and solely concentrate on this. After opening an Amazon-US account, my address had been updated and I needed to go through KYC/and VAT verification on my UK/EU accounts (seemingly all a very simple process). This turned out to be a very painful 30 day process, whereby the issue only resolved by my efforts of calling account health upwards of twice a day and constantly chasing my cases. It was an extremely stressful process to say the least. I've never been on this side of Amazon before, but after going through this I will never allow this to be my sole income again.

In my experience, you obviously need to experience more difficulties compare with an ordinary office job. While, you'd better make sure to take home more money in return. Making FBA a full time job needs more effort and struggle especially when AI involved more in Amazon daily operations nowadays. I see them as the cost of freedom that Amazon brings me. Good luck!

Full time 7 Figure Amazon seller here, been on this platform off and on with different businesses for 10 odd years. NOPE, dont ever ever touch this platform, the support is horrific.
Ebay is a far better or more stable platform, albeit less sales than amazon.. would encourage looking at vinted, ticktock, or others. I know personally 3-4 people banned including an ex business partner over a lipstick in which he couldnt verifty authenticity because the invoice was over 12 months old. Comical i know...
He got it from Shure cosmetics, one of the stronger uk DIstributers that supply makeup to the masses but becaose of this error section 3 and jog on basically ...
Also I lost 40k when my business shut for 6 weeks for a section 3 which was fixed eventually.. almost bankrupted me, still dealing with the damage, still trying to get my credit back on track.
Currently in the process of moving all my products and stock away from this platform so my advice is probably tinged with despair

I question the legitimacy of your business if you cannot survive at all without Amazon. Too many scammers try to make money like that. The businesses that die often to deserve that reality. I would make WAY less money without Amazon, but I'd still be able to run by business and get by without them. Even though I'd only be scraping by compared to now, the business would still survive because it has some presence on the other major websites on the internet.
Make your goal to get there and you will have created a true business and not some short term scheme.

As others have said, SELL FULL TIME, BUT DO IT ON MULTIPLE MARKETPLACES!
There is a lot of fraud on Amazon, loads of listings just get nerfed to nothingness while you have hundreds of units of stock sitting at Amazon... All these sorts of issues, mean that you should always have a hedge to cover you when Amazon goes wrong.
I started on Ebay, decided I didnt want to do Ebay and set up on Amazon. 4 years down the line, my Ebay account is now more successfull than it ever was before, largely by reselling returned goods, listings that got discontinued etc. Ive even started sourcing specifically for Ebay again, as there are many opportunities that don't have listings on Amazon, and if you've ever tried to set up listings on Amazon and found its actually there but hidden and discontinued anyhow.....
Whenever I look to source large quantities of goods, my first thought, is whether there is a market for that item elsewhere, as the listing could go poof... If it sells on Ebay too, then happy days
