gs1 codes not accepted and amazon support not much help either

hi i hope someone can help here. so as the title says , i have purchased some gs1 codes to list my products on my amazon store but nothing is working .I get either error codes 8572 ,5422 etc or amazon telling me i need to screenshot the error code and provide information .

1. have emailed amazon support with proof of affiliation email and a list of the gs1 codes purchased.

2. have tried applying for gtin exeption .its gets accepted but then still can list product.

3. tried putting a brand name IN the brand box(as suggested on here ) but iam FBM,(print on demand and dont use white label ), not FBA.

sooo whats the answer ???, someone must know a workaround or a actual method on what to do ... . . .

calling all expert gurus please help .............................................

Are the codes registered to your business? Are you brand registered/approved or listing generic?

Seems to be a duplicate of this

When you say GS1 barcodes, did you purchase them directly from GS1?

Does your name/brand/product correspond with your GS1 registration?

Are you entering the correct 13 or 14 digit barcode, with the correct check digit?

That may be the problem. Amazon check against the GS1 database.

GS1 barcodes should be registered under the same name that you will input for "Manufacturer" when creating the listing.

On GS1 assign a barcode to a product and put in the brand name in the details for that barcode.

Use that brand name on the listing.

Make sure all these are matched up correctly.

Supply evidence for this to Amazon support.

hiya, we started as print on demand, if you have a trademark use that to register your brand if not, choose a name you may eventually want to trademarkr, apply to sell under that name (providing noone else is using it), you will have to provide an item with that name 'permanently affixed' as your a printer no problem!

then apply for a 'GTIN exemption' this way you can list under that branding without ever having to buy barcodes. it automatically knows when you put that brand in you don't need a barcode when listing.

Best piece of advice anyone gave me when i started, we now have a trademark and over 100,000 different product variations would have been a mortgage in barcodes!

If you go this route once you make your first £170 quid trademark it and then its all yours and you get a storefront etc on amazon, do do the trademark if you go this route people trawl amazon for unregistered branding and trademark it to hijack listings:(

check the ipo website for similar trademarks if you go this way as we got burned first time for similarity!

good luck
