German Tax email from Amazon. Legitimate or spam?
I got this email from Amazon, but link goes to non-Amazon website qualtrics.com. Is this email legitimate? Or phishing spam?
It says if you don’t store products in Germany and your sales are below 100K, “you have no tax registration obligation in Germany”.

This looks like a legitimate e-mail to confirm that you aren’t required to submit the German Tax Certificate.
What was the sender?

How are Amazon going to stop people lying on this form?
I doubt this process protects them from the German authorities should they find out the seller should have been paying VAT.
I am surprised Amazon are leaving themselves open in this way.

Looks like spam.
It is very poorly written and the copyright statement at the bottom says 2017.

Check the sender and post it on here.
It should be @amazon.co.uk or @amazon.de at the end nothing else!
I dont like the look of the link. I wouldnt click it anymore as they can hack your account.
Always check the email address first before clicking any links.
Or check your notifications 9/10 amazon send it to your account as well.

Well, I opened a case asking about this “u-Turn” and the reply was no, nothing has changed, TAX cert still required by deadline etc. So if, and it’s a big if, if Amazon have changed their stance on this, it hasn’t trickled down to seller support yet.

Is there a message or notification about it on your seller account?
If not, and if it is genuine, then that’s a poor show from Amazon.
Unfortunatley, we all know that Amazon does not always practise what it preaches when it comes to online security (they still send me regular emails with links that ask me to log-in to my account - that should be a real no-no ).
