Dear all,

it seems that there is a glitch in the Amazon checking tool - here is the official response from the support request.

I am shaking my head in disbelief at this frustrating and almost unbearable platform. Thanks to all contributors for sharing solution ideas

I have the same problem, however when I go to ‘more details’ tab I cannot find ‘item type keyword’ the closest one to it is ‘Item type name’ and I changed it several times but when I go back and check the product it still says unavailable and in the help section it still giving me the message.

Thanks for your help!

Hello Sham_Gate,

I also still have this issue, today I too was trying to locate the “Item Type Keyword” without success. I also have been playing with the keywords.

in my short time on Amazon i have established that any changes made almost anywhere take time to propagate. I will continue to find a resolution but I find that working on this platform becomes all consuming and efforts to resolve issues are very frustrating. Please post back if you resolve this, I will do the same.

Apologies I can not give you a quick and full resolution.

Dear PeterT,

I have been unable to find “Item Type Keyword” anywhere - I now presume that due to the dynamic nature of this platform that the Amazon own self check is providing obsolete information.

In this thread, SweeW also gave a hint that “Type Keyword” is now called “Department”. Again wherever I look I cannot locate and field “Department”

Yesterday I made changes to the keywords found by (pressing the correct button  ) Edit, Advanced, Keywords. I have waited until today to give some propagation time and I have just checked the Amazon self check tool again and it is reporting "Your Listings ASIN is missing the “Item Type Keword” Attibute.

One side question - do all Amazon Seller’s see the same user interface or is this specific to example “OS, Region or Geographic location etc etc etc”

In the last week i purchased two help books on Kindle and neither of them either describe or show the platform as it currently displays on my system. I think the dynamic nature of the platform is not helping my efforts.Amazon01

I had this as well,.

Item type keyword is the category. I had to move mine to completely different category for it to fix itself. Moving it to another branch within the same category did not work. Luckily my product could easily fit into either so I just left it in the other, but presumably once it had picked up the move and fixed itself you could move it back.

that’s where I am working .do notice how my visual (Based in UK) display appears different to yours??

I am conscious my thread is becoming time consuming for all and I don’t want it to be a burden

My plan is to raise a ticket so Amazon can spend the time to provide a solution…
