Adding product description to existing product
I am struggling! I’ve loaded the product (a new book) and its image onto the site, but can’t find anywhere on seller central to upload the description without which the thing simply won’t sell. Can anyone tell me how to add that? Amazon seems to think the site is easy to use - perhaps it is, but a steer would be much appreciated…

Go to Inventory, left-click ‘Edit’ on the left-hand for that item then:
Manage Inventory/Description.
For your condition notes (for used books) you use the ‘condition note’ box under the ‘offer’ tab.

In addition to what pudding_n_pie said, if you don’t have the listing control, the only way how to make Amazon accept your changes is to open a case with the Seller Support under “Products and Inventory” - “Product page issue” and “Fix a product page”.
You will be asked to provide some proof supporting your desired updates, such as a link to the manufacturer’s website.
