Which type of card do you use for your seller's account?

My relationship with Amazon as a seller has been a long, frustrating and very rocky one.

I joined as a seller back in December 2015 and since then, I have been unable to sell a single item because every single card I have registered has been “invalid”. I can see this is a common issue on here.
Yes, I did try absolutely everything and I even called Amazon, which was another annoyance since I ended up talking to the US customer support on a terrible quality line and in the end they couldn’t help me anyway, unsurprisingly. I certainly didn’t expect an American to know how to fix a UK bank card problem.

I bank with Natwest and I even opened a current account just for selling on Amazon, but of course it was invalid. The Natwest staff have no idea why either… and I really don’t want to get a credit card just so I could sell.

So for a while I’ve been curious… what type of cards do other Amazon sellers use?
Do you use a bank debit card? If so, which bank and which account type?
Or do you use a credit card?

Thanks!

When you say that your new Nat West card was “invalid” do you mean that Amazon were unable to validate it, or that you were unable to load the details in?
To validate a card Amazon will try a test transaction, usually of £1.
This money is not actually taken from your account but is held pending for a while.
If you do not have sufficient funds in your account to cover these test transactions, and sometimes they try multiple times, then the validation will fail.

You are allowed to use credit or debit cards on Amazon UK but not pre paid credit cards.
You have passed account verification haven’t you, so that other than the bank card you are fully authorised to sell on Amazon?

The ridiculous thing is I use the same debit card for my personal account to buy things. I tried 3 other cards and all of them were apparently “invalid” and all i’ve been told to do by Amazon’s customer support is use a different card. My name is the same on the card as my account name. Amazon have been trying to send me a seller’s account refund for almost a year because it apparently can’t go through onto my invalid card, though I can pay for items using it.

The name has to be EXACTLY the same on seller central as the one you are trying to input, including spaces and initials etc otherwise it will be rejected.
Also do you have funds in the account?
