Can someone please tell me what I have done wrong?

Ship by: Mon, 4 Aug 2025 BST to Tue, 5 Aug 2025 BST

Deliver by: Wed, 6 Aug 2025 BST to Fri, 8 Aug 2025 BST

Purchase date: Sat, 2 Aug 2025, 12:35 BST

I shipped the item On Monday 4th

Tracking shows the item was delivered Fri 8th

the customer sent me a message via messenger 24-Aug-2025 11:10

"I have received this item thankyou"

2 days later I get an a-z with a defect

I appealed with the above information their reply was

You must ship media products, such as books, music, DVD, and video, within 2 business days of the close of a sale

I shipped it within 2 business days it was delievered on time and the customer sent me a message to confirm receipt.

What have I done wrong to deserve a defect?

Regards

Rick

The thing you did wrong is sold it on Amazon.

What was the reason for the a-z? And how did you ship?

Without more info, a guess would be the customer basically claimed they hadn’t received the item, which Amazon believed, and the reason for the message was nothing more than a tick box by the customer so ‘have contacted you prior to opening an a-z claim’

Not necessarily, it's just too easy to click the A-Z option. And sometimes the buyer is only trying to contact the seller and ends up using the A-Z claim option.

I had one a few days ago, a buyer opened a return request, and I provided a prepaid return label. However, he opened a claim because he was unable to print the label.

It ended well when I claimed his A-Z claim had stopped us from selling on Amazon, and asked the buyer to withdraw it to enable us to process the return. It was withdrawn with the buyer saying, 'the claim was filed in error'

The item was returned and refunded.
