Past vat requested in germany
Hi, I have registered in Germany in August my VAT number.
A month ago I have received a letter from the German Tax Office.
They are asking me to pay the past VAT in Germany for the period I had my items stored in Germany and didn’t have the VAT number.
Ok, fine, I can pay, it’s correct, I will pay it there and ask for a VAT refund here in Italy.
The problem is that the German Tax Office estimated the amount based on the first VAT declaration that I have made in Germany and it’s overestimated.
I now need them to recalculate this amount.
I was told I needed to ask Amazon a catch-up report for my sales, but Amazon doesn’t answer my emails. They even have a specific address for this:
vat-services-data@amazon.com
At the same time the German Tax Office doesn’t give much information on the phone, they hardly speak english, and don’t answer emails.
Do you have any info on this?
Thanks

have you use the VAT report to show the sales level and what has been due? You might also need the summary and detail report from account section to verify the information using Excel.
That should give you a starting point to work out where the over estimation might come from

Hi, Did you get anywhere with this?
I am right now (June 2019) in the same position of German VAT people wanting January 19 returns but my amazon returns service only started in May 19.
Thanks
