Overwhelmed with managing 1000+ SKU's

So, amazon has changed a lot from when we started. Listing products is not as simple with so much content to add and update and not mentionining the competition, products don’t jsut sell themselves anymore as they used to. I work alone to list products, photos, ads, FBA and now I’m finding I don’t have time to list products anymore which is affecting our sales

I want to know how you guys do it, how do you list, manage your products, create photos and update product content? Do you outsource anything, use any software to help.

At the end of the day, it really depends on just what it is that you are doing.
There is software out there that will help to speed up listing and so on. But always at a cost.
So that leaves you with a choice of automating as far as you possibly can, then starting to employ staff.
I’m sure that there are a lot of people that are using VA’s these days as well, so that’s a possibility for you.

Just progress I’m afraid and part and parcel of expansion. Amazon are striving to see improvement and maximise their return so you have to work harder and longer to keep up. You can outsource or pay for Amazon programs to point you in the right direction but it all comes at a cost.

As soon as you get a great selling product, Amazon will send out reports telling everyone how wonderful it is and you should get a piece of the action and this of course leads to dillution. That’s the downfall of a free and open marketplace.

I don’t actually find listing products through Amazon’s seller central interface that difficult. If you have several products that are very similar the copy function works well and you can just change the bits of information that are different and add new photos.

Taking good photos can be time consuming. This is something you could outsource to someone else to do but that obviously comes with a cost.

I find it a lot more time consuming to list through flat files.

With pricing it is sometimes easier to use re-pricing software to keep the competition in check and make sure you stay competitive. I am not saying sell at rock bottom but it helps to compete if you have competitive listings. Obviously setting your minimum price is important so you still make the minimum amount of profit that is acceptable to you.

As for managing the rest of my account I don’t find it too time consuming maybe an hour or so a day at the most to do the rest of the daily admin.

The most time consuming part of my job is finding new products to sell. I am continually growing my product range and finding products that will sell well takes me significant time.
