Buyers trying their luck with a refund - is Amazon telling people their items might be lost?
Hi! Has anyone else had people “trying their luck” with a refund by saying their item isn’t with them? I’ve had 5 people in the past week or so say their item is lost, but when I tell them there is tracking showing their item has been delivered, none of them ever respond back. Is Amazon telling people their items might be lost?

Yeah I’ve had a few
And yes if Amazon can’t access the tracking automatically they tell the customer to request a refund…

Amazon has done this for quite a long time.
They basically tell the customer to ask for a refund, as the tracking does not update properly on the website.

@Dedez @NEil Hm, that’s annoying. I’m just a bit shocked about how many people are willing to openly lie to try and get a free item. Shame there are no repercussions… if a seller lied about an order, their account might be closed!
I did have a lovely buyer the other day ask me to cancel a refund straight after it was processed as they received their item - there are still good people out there.

Amazon have always sided with buyers, it’s no loss to them. It’s just par for the course, BUT it does lead to more buyers trying it on, which amazon should be aware of. I always send the customers an email along the lines of " We will inform Royal Mail Investigations, and Amazon to try to prevent your further order going missing. Please be assured we will help them and the Police prosecute anyone stealing your orders no matter what the value "
Funnily enough we do then get quite a few " Oh it was with a neighbour ", We found it behind the bin ", My son took it in but didn’t tell me " ect.

Hi, We have had the same problem this week. We have 2 customers telling us that they have not recieved their items. Tracking shows that both were delivered. BOTH the customers are saying that their Ring doorbells caught the item being delivered but no other motion until they got home. One was Tracked 48 the other FedEx Next Day. I’ve seen the footage of the parcel being delivered by FedEx and after the guy leaves the parcel is still in view of the doorbell.
I called Amazon to see if there were guide lines on how to deal with this, they told me it was up to us.
We rarely get complaints of parcels going missing but to get 2 in the same week, with the same story!? Just seems a bit odd.
