Does my credit card have to be from the same bank?

I am trying to get started selling on Amazon. I uploaded my credit card information and then tried to post an item. It showed:

You’re currently unable to add or edit listings because either the credit card on file is invalid or the credit card is in the process of validating, which could take up to 24 hours. Please ensure that you have a valid credit card uploaded in Account Settings.

I just want to make sure that this is simply a matter of waiting long enough. The credit card information is valid, but it is not from my bank and it is not linked to my bank (it is linked to my PayPal). Is this card still acceptable?

It must be a valid credit card. Amazon only accepts a true credit card. One where the bank offers you credit and sends you a bill. Not a debit or prepaid card. It also needs to accept charges from the USA.

Credit cards aren’t “linked” to a bank, or to PayPal. They are issued by banks, but there is no connection between a credit card and any accounts you may have at the same bank.

A Debit card is linked to a bank account, or other source of money, which can include PayPal. When you state that your card is “linked” to PayPal, that sounds like it is a Debit card, not a credit card.

Amazon wants you to have a Credit card. Debit cards are generally not accepted (some people are still using debit cards; that is because some banks still have outdated software that, when queried, does not indicate that the card is a debit card; once the issuing bank updates their software for reporting, they will be reported to Amazon as debit, and no longer accepted).
