Amazon is synchronizing the information between Seller Central & Consumer accounts!

The first thing (regarding a headline) is that if you use the same email on the amazon consumer account and seller central account, the information is going altogether in one mess. Proof? When you change the password on the Amazon consumer platform, the password is changing also on the Amazon Seller Central account.

When I change the email on my residential details - my personal (not business) email on Amazon Seller Central, unexpectedly, this email also gets registered on the Amazon consumer side.

I am trapped on the Seller Central platform for the “Identity Verification” reasons.

Step by step… Previously (before the registration of seller central account), I have registered several consumer accounts (2-3) where I have uploaded documents of the company, myself, and also I was adding my co-worker details (Name, Surname, uploaded ID, and cell phone number) as a primary contact person. I even have made and uploaded a Power of Attorney in his name signed by me.

In the next stage, I opened an account on Amazon Seller Central. Obviously, I have made a big mistake over here by using the same email address that I have registered on the Amazon consumer platform.

So from that moment, I got trapped in an unsolved step for almost 2 months now, bellow message from Amazon (I did cut out a private link):

We were unable to verify some of your primary contact information

Proof of identity - National Identity Card

  • The place of birth on the identity document does not match the place of birth entered in Seller Central.
  • The document number on the identity document does not match the document number entered in Seller Central.
  • The document expiry date in the identity document does not match the document expiry date entered in Seller Central.

ACTUALLY, the information does not MATCH for INFORMATION that has been entered/uploaded in the Amazon CONSUMER account, NOT Seller Central account as Amazon is telling. THAT IS NOT TRUE!

Now I have been living in this loop forever and no one can’t help to solve this issue. I can’t start working on sales. I am responsible for more than 20 people’s workplaces. I am giving them a job. All that I have is just expenses and no income. I am half dead already. I built all of this because of the huge potential of possible sales on the Amazon platform. Now I have been stuck for so long that really getting depressed.

So my idea was to delete all the consumer accounts that I have made to prevent mixing up any information between "independent" platforms. Then I got into the next stage of headache. I went into the contact with Amazon consumer team and deeply explained the situation. They understood and agreed that this situation looks ugly and unprofessional. Right after Amazon consumer team was sending me the links on registered emails for a reason to delete the accounts permanently. The first link worked out, and I even got a confirmation email, that account was successfully closed (which in the latest update was confirmed, that account is still active). After receiving a second link to delete the account permanently - by following the procedure I have to login into the account to close it, but the system is requiring me to go through a two-step verification where I am supposed to get an OPT code on the registered phone number (I can see last 3 digits - which are correct). Receiving of OPT code for some reason doesn’t work, but it was working well in the beginning and I didn’t change any data (phone or any other). So - I can’t delete the account.

After explaining this to the Amazon consumer team members, they agreed to delete all of my Amazon consumer accounts manually from their side. That was about 14 days ago. At the first stage, I was told that this process is going to take 24-48h, but nothing happened. The next Amazon team member told me that situation is complicated and it should be solved in 72h (additional). Again, nothing solved, spoke with the Amazon assistant again, and I got informed that this is an unusual case, but it should be solved in 5-7 days as max. Nothing happened - still unsolved. Today, I was told that accounts are going to be permanently deleted in 3-4 “business days”. Should I believe? What has changed?

So can someone from Amazon team members help? This is not the case where you have to follow the standard procedure - this is the case for someone who cares and who has the power to do things right. Is it possible to get the attention of some Amazon supervisor or any other person with power in his hands to solve this never-ending nonsense??

Yes, of course, this is my fault because I was a person who did these mistakes. I admit that I am an inexperienced newbie. But I really need your help to solve it!!!

Best Regards,
Potential Partner

First of all, when you open a seller account, you automatically get a buyer (consumer, as you call it) account with it, so of course the details are synchronized

Second, other sellers are not going to take time out of running their own businesses to read through, understand and offer advice on your very long thread. You really ought to cut it right down to the essential facts. We don’t need every “I said, they said, so I said”

I’m totally confused by this, are you saying you have 3 amazon buying accounts but can’t open the attached seller accounts because the documents don’t match?

Just a few points:
You can’t be named on more than one seller account unless they’re totally separate selling categories, business details etc
Once you close an account it’s unlikely you’ll get it back
As above, a buying account means a selling account is automatically linked
Seller support are unlikely to understand what you’re asking if we can’t

Are all 3 accounts for 3 totally separate businesses with separate bank accounts selling in totally different categories?

So, you login to the buying/consumer account for the one you want to sell from and click sell on Amazon, that should take you to seller central or does it take you to register a new account?

So the information in Seller Central is exactly what is on the documents you’re providing?

I knew someone with a similar kind of story. I didn’t read yours fully though but I kind of get the gist. The long and short is, once you make one mistake or once something doesn’t go quite right with this set up process it takes ages to fix. Even the amazon staff get confused with all the going back and forth. My advice is, make things as simple as possible for yourself. If they said 3 to 4 days, just keep phoning, messaging and speaking to them. It will get fixed but you just have to keep at it. Don’t do any thing new to make it more complicated. Since they understand what seems to be the problem just keep chasing them up.

Yes There is a link between your seller account and your buying account and whilst they are separate they can get linked because of 2FA going to the same email or phone number if both need changing around the same time, from the login screen on one of the locked accounts select the telephone support option, make it clear that your buying account / selling account keep locking each other out, they will remove 2 factor authentication and reset your account, you will then be able to login and re-set up 2FA leave at least 1 day between buying and selling accounts, and reset one of the passwords after 20 days or so so that the forced resets don’t overlap. It is better to do it against the buying account as it can wipe bank and card details during the reset process which leads me to think it is a much deeper issue than just 2FA. Took 2 attempts to fix my issue once on both accounts, interestingly it was my Seller account and my personal account which were at odds not my business buying account, 2FA was set to the same mobile number.
