What is a "reliable supplier"?

After having received a section 3 authenticity suspension and my POA being approved and accepted Amazon, as a final step before lifting the suspension, is asking me to provide invoices for my products from a new supplier:

To reactivate your selling account, please send us the following information:
– Copies of final invoices or receipts from a new supplier.
– These documents should reflect at least 10 units of inventory.
– Please include contact information for your new supplier, including name, phone number, address, and website. We will maintain the confidentiality of your supplier contact information.
– You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible.

I have sent over an invoice from a supplier in China which a link to the company’s website and all the contact information but this has been rejected. I read somewhere on the forum that Amazon does not like suppliers from China. Could this be the reason for the rejection? Does anyone have any suggestions or input on this point? It seems a bit odd that suppliers from China should be rejected since pretty much everything is made there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What is the criteria for a reliable and valid supplier? What types of suppliers have been accepted by Amazon in your experience?

Hi the issue is with china a lot of people watch a bit youtube then buy from Alibaba which amazon simply wont accept you need to bare in mind china is the counterfeit capital so they need to be strict.

You need to look out and be able to verify the supplier does the invoice include the AIC and VAT number have you checked the company on the chinese version of company house (AIC I think it is called) are they a registered wholesaler does all info check out on a googel search such as phone number web, warehouse address etc…

Then if you get all this you have a chance but still may face issues tbf

Receipt AND invoice. Besides it is Amazon who ask for “Copies of final invoices or receipts from a new supplier.” so what’s the problem with receipt if it’s Amazon’s terminology I’m using?

The supplier was incorporated in the 1960s and Nature of business (SIC) is defined as 45310 - Wholesale trade of motor vehicle parts and accessories. They have been around forever.

All the OP is actually asking is “What is the criteria for a reliable and valid supplier?” That seems like a perfectly reasonable question.

The trouble is, no one really knows the answer. When we started out looking for suppliers, way back when, we made our best attempt at carrying out due diligence on prospective wholesalers and, perhaps by luck, we’ve never had a problem. As far as I know, suppliers have to be bona fide wholesalers (whatever that means in Amazon’s eyes), preferably with their own website and with contact info such as a telephone number, in case someone from Amazon should wish to telephone them.

I don’t know what other checks Amazon might carry out.

Sorry this isn’t a very helpful response but it does at least answer the specific question you asked. If anyone else knows better, perhaps they could add something.

On your other post it says amazon are still asking for the invoices but on this post you say they are asking for invoices for new products

I don’t see any mention of a supplier website in or possibly under the hidden text in the OPs screenshot. Could be a reason for rejection ?

@JeffB_gimme_ya_money - what format did you submit this New Invoice document to amzn ?

If the Invoice was raised today - have you received the goods yet ? If first you sent a pro-forma document (dated today) then you sent the Invoice (dated today) - this could be an issue. Not a Final Invoice

This info needs to be on the Invoice

This policy is going to bite Amazon in the arse, hard. They have no right to be insisting on this information. As a business, your supplier information is confidential and you should not be forced to supply it to who is in effect your competitor.

If Amazon have proof you are selling fake items etc, then they should suspend that account, if they don’t have proof then they shouldn’t.

Amazon does this often, when some products are selling well they will freeze your funds until you provide them with supplier information.

They then take that information and before you know it, they will be listing those same items on your best selling ones and competing with you.

I had few cases like this where I previously used to work. We had a good selling product in top 10 of duvets (we were the only sellers), amazon froze our account, asked for supplier information, was legit so got verified again, couple of weeks later amazon are selling the item, and selling it £10 cheaper than us.

We asked the manufacturer and as he was a nice person, he told us amazon rang them and wanted 2k pieces.

Can we just clarify
Was the original suspension a random asin check or a reported ip violation?

OP i ask as earlier i stated the 3 asin check which is usually for new sellers. You are not new but did state you have recently returned to selling on amazon
