Bidding for extra space
I planned to put this question in the Q&A session they ran but they said we were only allowed one question.
Anyone got any idea how this works?
I have not got a clue what to bid. Amazon have just not explained their latest money making scheme.
Has anyone bid and won? How much did you bid?

I’ve not done it but I presume it’s auction style (highest bidder gets the space) and depends on your sales price - pretty much like ads
I’d go off your previous monthly storage fees and work it from there
So go in at a price you are comfortable with in the hope that you’ll sell enough to cover the costs with the credits
From help
Important: Make sure that you specify a reservation fee that reflects your confidence in your ability to use the additional capacity and to offset the reservation fee with performance credits. If you’re unable to use the capacity efficiently and offset the fee, you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance of the reservation fee minus your performance credits.
Note: Your fee may be lower than what you specify in your request. For all sellers whose requests are granted in the same week, the lowest granted reservation fee will apply, regardless of the reservation fee that you originally submitted

I haven’t used it as I need the space in the EU.
If I won some space by the time I had processed the order and got it to Germany it would be the end of the month and I would not have used any of it. If I then didn’t win any space the month after I would be overstocked and charged a fortune. I have tried explaining this to seller support but I just gave up.
I have tried a couple of bids for a small amount of space just to get a feel for the cost and both have been rejected.
I would be interested to know how many people are using the process. I suspect it is very very low. Although if it was low my speculative bids would have been accepted.
