How popular a product is when seller is is only stocking 1 item per time
As with many of you i often try and research what are popular products, and a big part of this is monitoring competitors stock levels i.e. Only 8 left on listings.
However i noticed one seller i monitor only ever appears to have 1 item of everything, which means i cannot tell how popular it is. His listing don’t say ‘Only X left’ and If i add to basket it says " This seller has only 1 of these available. To see if more are available from another seller, go to the [product detail page]".
Any ideas how i can tell how popular one of these products are, i assume he has some sort of auto fill inventory when an item is sold - possible?

More telling is what the rank of an item is.
If it’s unranked then it hardly sells anything ever. And obviously the higher the rank, the more it sells.
The number of items in stock can be an indicator, but that’s about it.
