First sale on US market (yay) but no sales tax?
Hi,
Is there any sellers on here doing FMB to the US?
I’ve just had my first sale to Amazon US. There isn’t any sales tax on the order details showing. I would have thought that it should be displayed?
Sales tax always shows up on the order details for US sales on Etsy and Ebay. I’m wondering if I’ve missed something when setting up on the US marketplace and it hasn’t actually been charged.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ah so you meant if if I had to send it with a Delivery Duty Paid service or something. Thanks Neil.
And thanks PlanB, I should have thought to use Google to check New Hampshire sales tax. Apologies everyone, my brain seems to be moving very slowly this morning…

Another article that could be of interest to others, although it’s from 2017.
I think I will take the advice and seek out a US tax specialist as there’s no much info out there.

Isn’t US State sales tax only levied on goods and services bought within the particular State??

Probably talking out of my proverbial here but…
I was of the opinion that US Sales tax was a Domestic US tax payable only where the transaction is US to US.
I know on Etsy sales tax is payable because Etsy is based in the US and they are considered to be the ‘facilitator’ and therefore responsible for the sale.
If you are selling from Amazon UK direct into the US, aren’t you only subject to import taxes?

Hello Arty12!
First of all - congratulations on your first US sale!
And glad to see that the mystery of no sales tax was already resolved.
Have a nice Tuesday everyone,
