Variations can not be created
I had 10 children product variations under parent listing, but suddenly the parent listing is broken and all the child listing are in separated page,
as Amazon Seller Support advised me I did perform a full update by creating a feed file and uploaded the file, but I got the problem error code 8040. (you may not create new variation relationships for this Brand. You are free to add offers to any existing ASIN for this Brand.).
I even delete the parent listing to create a new one, but I was surprised after that when I go to Edit product page and click on variations option, I have this massage: Variations are not available for this category
Which is not true at all since I myself was and all other seller in FBA are selling same kind of watchband with Variations listing
Another Amazon Seller Support Advise me I tried to do it from variation wizard i.e. “Add to or update an existing variation family”
But I have this massage: The ASIN you searched for is not part of any variation family.
I really don’t know what to do now as I tried every thing you recommended me, as you know it’s Christmas and I already lost 2 days of selling.
Please help me to solve this problem ASAP
Thank you so much

I came across this recently. It probably means Amazon have removed permissions for you to list new ASIN’s for that brand. If you try to add existing skus to a new parent you will get error 8040, if you try to list a standalone sku then you will get error 5461
You will need to get Amazon to authorise you to list new ASIN’s the brand. Try creating a standalone listing for this brand and see if you get error 5461, if you do you will get a link to get catalogue authorisation for that brand. Then just follow the instructions. For me it took around 48 hours to get permissions back.
Even if you have listed the brand previously you can still get this. I had been listing the brand for a long time and suddenly I was blocked this week.
