Individual seller - VAY exemption

Hi Im working through listing my first item, but under listing it says price and vat exemption etc, Im only an Individual seller (not business), so wondering about vat exemption. Is it safe to assume VAT exemption is automatic for individual sellers? If not safe, what do I need to do so its not listed or displayed with VAT etc?

Also any tips to avoid returns

Ie looked at many Seller University videos, but quite a lot of information to digest and cant find this info anywhere

Thanks

You can declare your VAT exempt status, so any sales to 'business' customers will automatically receive an invoice. Go to Account info and Tax Settings and declare there (I think, though they do keep changing the layout of pages etc !). If not there, try using blue search box at top of page.

Tips to avoid returns - make sure you list them under the correct ISBN - be aware that unfortunately there have been many dropshippers and overseas sellers who have created bogus duplicate catalogue pages without an ISBN, and often incorrect product details, and they often come up first in search results. Sadly the book catalogue has deteriorated almost beyond redemption in the past few years.

Make sure you describe your books accurately noting any faults. I too am a bookseller (business) and haven't had a return in 2 years.
