Sales Drop Across Amazon UK – Anyone Else Experiencing This Recently?

Over the past 5 days, we've noticed a significant decline in sales across several established listings on Amazon UK. We have reviewed the usual factors including:

Stock availability (all key products in stock)

Buy Box ownership

Pricing competitiveness

Advertising performance

Listing health and suppression issues

Despite no major operational changes, sales and traffic appear to be lower than expected compared to previous periods.

We would like to understand whether other UK sellers are experiencing similar trends recently.

Have you observed a noticeable drop in traffic, sessions, or conversions?

Are there any marketplace-wide factors, algorithm changes, or consumer demand shifts that could be contributing?

Have you identified any successful strategies to recover lost sales?

Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I know the prime is here!

Thank you.

I'm sure you're not the only one, sales have tanked here too.

Warm weather, world cup, etc etc.

As long as everything is ok as you listed, then this is just life. People do have better things to do than keep buying stuff all the time.

These slumps happen, without any apparent reason, not only on Amazon but other listing sites. Just the way things go, so no need to panic.

It may be useful to separate a general demand drop from an Amazon-specific traffic change.

My own Amazon sales have been weakening since June, so I am also trying to understand whether this is only my category, a wider consumer-demand issue, or something specific to Amazon traffic visibility.

For sellers seeing a decline, do you also sell on your own website, eBay, Etsy, TikTok Shop, or any other platform?

If sales are down everywhere, that may suggest wider consumer demand or seasonal behaviour.

But if sales are mainly down on Amazon while your own website or other platforms are more stable, that points more toward Amazon-specific traffic routing, search visibility, Prime Day attention shift, recommendation changes, or deal-placement effects.

It is difficult for sellers to understand Amazon system behaviour because we only see our own account metrics. We do not see the full marketplace traffic picture, category-wide session movement, or how buyer attention is being redistributed during events like Prime Day.

Comparing with other sellers in unrelated categories is useful as a signal, but it is not very reliable evidence. A seller in books, clothing, craft supplies, or electronics may be affected by completely different customer behaviour.

The most useful comparison would be:

1. Same products on Amazon vs own website / other platforms

2. Sessions down vs conversion down

3. Organic traffic down vs advertising traffic down

4. Prime / deal products vs non-deal products

5. FBA vs MFN if both are used

Without that split, it is easy to blame price, Buy Box, or listing health when the real issue may be that traffic has moved somewhere else.

I would say the hot sunny weather, World Cup and people on holiday, which happens at this time of year, all have an effect on sales. Also depends on what you are selling. Personally, I'm doing ok.

We have seen sales dip across both Amazon and Ebay. We were expecting a dip after Father's day but the dip is much bigger than previous years.

I suspect it is a combination of good weather, world cup and holiday season starting.

With another heatwave on its way this week it is not going to help sales at all.

Not really expecting any great pick up now until September when we normally see a big increase for Christmas.

We are exclusively Health Beauty / Personal care for replenish able items. Honestly we have seen an increase in sales but we have also massively expanded catalogue which we assume is the biggest factor.

Recently sales have dropped by like 90% due to promise extensions being added on FBM due to extreme heat and expected courier delays, despite our metrics being above 97% on OTDR.

eBay has remained relatively stable, but noticeable drops on Amazon specifically related to fbm due to delays. With FBA we actually see an increase due to the increased traffic due to prime day deals ( we haven't even submitted anything for prime day because giving a discount on already laughable FBA margins is a joke). Also FBA is still offering next day in most areas despite all couriers giving warnnigs to their drivers for unsafe conditions.

Keep in mind btw they are contacting sellers to optimise their fba shipping so that they can start offering same day shipping in more areas, essentially to just choke out fbm sellers imo
