Does Amazon AI change categories
I have noticed that some of our listings seem to have moved into Industrial & Scientific from DIY & Tools. The category they have moved to has a higher referral fee. I also keep seeing Amazon make changes to my listings often adding misleading information. I have opened cases in the past about this but don’t seem to get anywhere, as they just keep responding by asking for more and more information. Eventually I just give up out of sheer frustration. Is this sort of thing happening to other sellers and if so has anyone found a solution.

Yes it happens all the time I often have product details changed by Amazon.
With the category they have probably picked up a word in your listing which makes it think you have listed in the incorrect category. For example I listed a card with the word Garden Picture and it was moved by Amazon to Lawn & Gardens category.
With the category change you can normally request Amazon to do a Browse node change to return it to the correct category. With other information sometimes if you update your listing it will change the information other times you can’t override the data Amazon set.

Thanks, I will do what you have recommended and make a list of the ASINS affected and see if they will correct the categories. I have tried updating the browse nodes in the edit window but it does not seem to change the main category only the various branches.
