Straight from Seller Support from September 2026 even our manually put handling days will be overridden.
What on earth?? So folks seems it best not to do your best and leave sending out orders until the last minute of the deadline.
Just when you thought selling on Amazon could not get any worse. Seems to clearly be a ploy to make you use FBA or Easy Ship, all about the money money money!

Don’t have automatic handling time activated. The clue is in the name.
Where I can, I have disabled each and every setting where Amazon has any control over my business and I am much happier for it.

And once again they've failed to make clear if you'll be able to disable the AHT that has been set at a SKU level once it's been done.

So to resolve this I had to download a category listing inventory report and adjust my handling times per SKU and reupload to partially update all of my listings. I mean it's done now, but what a long winded thing to do when the default handling time (which worked fine for all these years previously), has been removed on yet another Amazon whim in an attempt to 'make things better' by only making them worse. Happy joy joy.
If the reason is because items are being dispatched quicker than our default handling times, what happened to under promise and over deliver? To be honest it's happened on Etsy too, forcing us into using default delivery times for (for example) Royal Mail - 2-3 days for 2nd Class post - lol. When does that ever happen anymore. Why can't sellers be trusted to set our own settings based on our own experiences?
