Most efficient way of shipping large item to Amazon
Hi all,
I am planning on selling a new ASIN soon which is very long. It comes in cartons which measure 195 x 10 x 18 cms and there are 8 items per carton.
When I ordered these, I had planned to send them to Amazon via pallets but have since discovered that this is not possible because the height limit on a singe pallet is 180cms.
I can send the to Amazon via UPS in their original cartons but sending the individual cartons is very expensive, it would be cheaper to put as many items as I can in one large box up to the weight limit of 30kg.
This then becomes expensive because I would need to have the boxes custom made.
My question is, is it allowed to somehow connect the cartons together either with parcel tape or plastic strapping? So for example, I could connect together four cartons so that they would measure 195 x 20 x 36 and contain 32 items?
Is there any other way of doing this?
Many thanks,
Damian

The Height restriction is the problem Amazon will not accept anything on or over 1.8M , We use Palletline who will not ship above 1.5M to avoid any loading issues at Amazon) if your cartons are 1.95M your already over this limit without factoring in the pallet they will sit on. Some Fulfillment centre’s will accept double stacked pallets up to 2.7M but this you will need clarify with Seller Support as this still comes with an individual pallet restriction within the double stacked pallet of 1.8M

We were sending our parcels at 1 mtr long , this was ok with UPS but not with Amazon, they threatened to return our parcels if our they were over 63cm, this was after we had been sending at 1mtr for over 6 months.

No you are not allowed multiple lids but you coul put one box on top of the other to create a bigger box
