How to close Close Account- Impossible
OK trying to pay balance and close account
So I wait till the close of the settlement period 7 May 2023 - 21 May 2023. Button appears and made payment
Made payment on the account balance page twice card declined. After checking with my bank amazon charged a card that has not been used in a couple of years and was not my default card to begin with.
No Problem on may 5th settlement Amazon charged me $500 on my default card.
Re-saved my default card and made payment but but still in pending after 3 hours where as old card was declined in minutes.
So I wake up this morning with $147 charged to my account
Repeated requests to close account are ignored. So getting runaround when I open several cases they tell me to use account tool https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/help/hub/solution/DA_CloseAccount2
Of course can not close because of balance which was paid but still blocked from closing and only incurring new charges.
Closed all my listings 4 months ago and am in Vacation/Holiday mode
Really would like to just get this account closed.
Any Ideas here would be appreciated

sorry no advise on the card charges but whilst you are sorting the card charges with Amazon…Downgrade your account from Professional, that should stop any further charges…Plus allow you to keep your account open if you so wish, has you may decide to sell again in the future.

Thanks all this is much appreciated. Balance now upped to $500, the priority of course was to stop the bleeding.
Minus charges I can dither around with it for a couple of months till I get things closed.
