Prime badge eligibility in much of EU
Interesting email received in German, shown in English below.
It doesn’t affect me as I don’t sell in EU but it shows the difference between EU anti-competition rules and UK anti-business rules. In summary having scanned through it, you can now have the Prime badge in Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Belgium without subscribing to SFP and you can use any carrier you like.
Good day!
As part of the agreement with the European Commission, effective June 21, 2023, our Prime eligibility criteria will change for all sellers in our stores in Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Belgium:
Our criteria for Prime eligibility and the Prime badge apply equally to offers from all sellers and the various shipping channels (FBA or seller-fulfilled) as well as Amazon Retail. They are based on indicators of the shopping experience that customers expect from Amazon Prime.
To be eligible for Prime, an offer must (1) be available nationwide, (2) be available to order with free shipping, and (3) offer free returns for Prime members (with limited exceptions related to product weight and cross-border shipping). To be eligible for Prime, sellers must consistently meet the below requirements per product category. For details on the product categories and their respective thresholds, see “Prime Programs for Sellers”:

- Delivery Promise: Prime listings must meet delivery promise requirements based on product category and storage location type. For more information on the Delivery Promise requirements, see Seller Prime Programs:
https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/GB5JRYD45LJ66K5T
-
On-Time Delivery: Prime orders must be delivered to the customer on or before the promised delivery date. On-time delivery rate must be at least 90%.
-
Tracking: You must provide valid tracking information when confirming shipment of Prime orders. You must maintain a tracking number (valid) rate of at least 99%.
-
Cancellation rate: The rate of cancellations of Prime orders that you have initiated prior to shipment must not exceed 0.5%.
A Prime eligible offer will appear in the Amazon Store with our Prime badge if it meets certain shipping speed thresholds. The sending speed threshold is calculated dynamically (hourly) at the store level. This ensures that only the 90% of Prime eligible offers with the fastest actual delivery speeds receive the Prime badge. For more information, see “Prime programs for sellers”:

Sellers can use any carrier for their Seller Fulfilled Prime orders. There is no longer a requirement to purchase shipping labels through the Buy Shipping feature. All listings that participate in Prime benefit from Amazon’s world-class customer service at no additional cost.

There are quite a few changes coming through in the EU, due to the agreement they made a little while back. No doubt at some point, it will filter through to the UK.
