FBA direct thermal labels fading, Laser labels smudging. Does Amazon have certified label and printer vendor that is recommended?
Our products sent in to FBA are 4-5 lb each. The Thermal labels are fading ( direct thermal) and when we tried laser as recommended , it scratches off. Does Amazon have an approved list of labels to buy the correct kind? Does Amazon have a list of labels/printers that will work correctly that we can purchase? We have followed the recommendation and are having a big challenge with them holding up. With the delays since August and inbound sitting in hot trailers it made the labels even more faded and we are getting performance issues like crazy due to the labels. Are you allowed to put a label on 2 sides of the product, in case the side with most friction fades? Are you allowed to put the label inside the plastic so it won't fade with rubbing along the conveyor belts?

If your laser labels are scratching off, first try cleaning the printer. On my Brother printer, there is a little gizmo that slides along the wire that fuses the toner; that usually clears it up for me.
Also try some other labels. If find that the off-brand or discount labels are hit-or-miss in this regard, but have no problems with Avery that aren't solved by cleaning the wire.
And yes, any thermal labels are likely to fade fairly quickly. I would not suggest using them for FBA.
