Read onlyWe know things get hard and take time, but Amazon's existence has helped many people realize their dreams and sell the products they love!
How has Amazon changed your life for the better?
For the past10 years I have run my FBM business 8 weeks a year from a cruise ship. Much more enjoyable way to do business.
My husband and I work together. We are our own bosses and we have no employees. We never missed any school events and are always home when our children are home. The flexible schedule we have is one of the best things about our Amazon business.

I love this thread you started and I look forward to hearing what sellers have to say. You can expect some folks to come here and focus on the negative, despite the stated intent in your opening post.
As you said, things do get hard and it takes time to build an online retail business. I know there are folks who don't believe that Amazon cares about the sellers. That is not true, especially for those of us who work daily in this community helping, moderating, and getting to know you.
I am old enough to know from experience that the biggest challenge in life is change. I was challenged when Amazon decided to create this forum and leave behind the forum I had nurtured for years. I am happy to say that I have cleared the final hurdle and I am once again inspired by the work I do here.
I love your avatar. Love is what got me over my final hurdle. I thought at my age I would never fall in love again, and I was wrong. That man helped me clear my final hurdle.
Best wishes, Susan
I have loved growing a business far more than I would have been able to without Amazon. I have been selling for 12 years, hired my sisters-in-law, and added a daycare in our building for our children. Admittedly, it is getting harder and harder to make a profit, but I would not be where I am today without Amazon, and I am grateful for their platform.
I'm glued to my phone and live in constant fear of what Amazon will do next to destroy my ability to provide for my family and employees. I have to undergo a lot more counseling, consumption of anti-anxiety meds, ketamine treatments, and decrease in quality of life due to the tyrant that is dealing with Amazon. The relationship is 110% one sided. I have next to no control over anything and no ability to get the support that I need. I am never able to talk to a real human that can help create a result or answer a specific question. I have to constantly be looking for new products to sell because every time Amazon demands that I provide invoices, with in a few months they end up selling the same brand for under my purchase cost. I don't sell anything today that I sold 2 years ago. It is a living but at the cost of my qualify of life, marriage, mental health, and soul.
Amazon gave us the opportunity to start a business when online selling was in its infancy. Although we have other channels available, Amazon continues to dominate. Amazon's marketplace continues to deteriorate, so I don't know how long it will last for us, but it has been a great ride for many years.
I'm glad to see this post. I see so many sad and terrible stories on the forums. There are many frustrations with selling on Amazon but ultimately, it is their shop and we shouldn't expect the same freedoms that might come from owning our own retail store or selling on our own website. My Amazon business has given me a lot - but above all else the opportunity to generate revenues and sell such a wide range of products that just coudln't happen anywhere else. I have sold many millions of dollars of products over the last few years and yet i haven't seen a single one of those physically for probably 4 years now... my team have also been able to transform their lives and we hope to continue being able to enjoy some of these benefits in the years to come.
There is a lot that is disappointing and frustrating too but you can read other threads about that.
