Amazon are displaying all my highest priced variations in search results

I’m having a big problem. I sell posters which have different prices based on size.

Most people will be interested in the smaller posters which are priced as you would expect. However I also have larger versions which are more expensive.

Amazon is displaying these higher priced versions in ALL search results.

I’m certain this would put people off clicking as they would assume it to be out of their price range.

As an analogy imagine somebody selling socks on ebay but they also had packs of 5, 10, or 20. On the search results for “socks” amazon shows my “pair” of socks as priced at £35.00 which seems ridiculous except that if you clicked through you’d find out that was the cost of the 10 pack and a single pair costs £5.00

Is there anyway to make amazon WEIGHT which variation I want to appear on search results? It’s getting to the point where I’d almost rather delete all my variations just so I cam be competitive with other sellers but this doesn’t feel optimal at all. Surely by offering additional optitions for my buyers that should be a plus not a negative to my selling on the platform but it seems to be skewing my results negatively. The results don’t even indicate a range say “£5.00-£35.00” it just declares the highest price with no other indication.

Anybody have any solution to this save actively deleting parts of my inventory??

I don’t believe there is. For my variation listings, the highest seller is shown.

This is why I have “Other sizes available” in the title.

So thinking about the situation. If I make a new listing with 5 prices amazon is always listing the most expensive in search results. Maybe if I make a sale of the lowest price that will now be the result but it seems by default they are displaying the most expensive whereas I would have guessed policy would be to make it he LEAST expensive showing up first.

Does anybody have any theory on why this might be the algorithm? Anything I could do to encourage amazon to weight the lowest priced first? I’m thinking things like adjusting the quantity or creation dates or something?
