Amazon 'keeps my balance' forever account suspension

My account was suspended for 2 inauthentic complaints over a 90 day period. I provided invoices in my appeal but Amazon was unable to verify these. My suppliers said they made no effort to contact them.

Now 90 days have passed since my account was closed so I contacted them to ask why funds for sales haven’t been released and got the message (below). I replied with invoices and they sent back the usual ‘cut & paste’ reply regarding my appeal

It just goes to show Amazon can keep you money if they want to! Unbelievable! As sellers on Amazon you should be aware of this!!

Amazon e-mail :-

Why is this happening?
Your account has been linked to the listing or sale of inauthentic items. The sale of counterfeit products is prohibited and your funds may be withheld if it is determined that your account has been used to sell inauthentic or infringing items.

How do I demonstrate authenticity?
In order to prove the authenticity of your items, please send documents such as invoices or brand authorization letters. Your appeal should address all of the inauthentic listings and policy violations associated with your account. A plan of action is not necessary and there is no required format for your appeal. Please submit documents such as:
– Invoices.
– Brand authorization letters.

How do I send the required information?
Submit this information to disbursement-appeals@amazon.co.uk.

Within 7 days after we receive your appeal, we will review it and respond with a final decision.

What happens if I do not send the requested information?
If we do not receive the requested information within 30 days or if your appeal is not successful, some or all of your funds will be withheld in your account.

Amazon responded to you with a quote of their Anti-Counterfeiting Policy, which you agreed to follow at the time when you registered to sell on their site.

They will not release any funds to you, since they couldn’t verify the validity of your invoices.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it.

Just goes to show how fragile everybody’s seller account is on Amazon. I provided invoices directly from the company which released the DVD’s but they were rejected. It’s likely another seller made 2 fake inauthentic claims, my account closed, funds for sales kept.

Do blocked funds come to a large extent from frozen money?

Can Amazon take away all the money if the sum of sold products considered “non-original” does not exceed 0.5%?

I agree with Adrian, first contact managingdirector@… If that doesn’t work send a letter before action. If that still doesn’t work then Small Claims Court using Money Claim Online.

Already been down the managing director route when trying to lift suspension; didn’t get much joy with that.

My inauthentic claims was less than 0.1% of all orders in last 12 months.

Amazon itself regularly purchased stock from us :-

Take Amazon to small claims court and dont forget to charge them a reasonable amount in interest for every day they hold your money after the 90 days in their own terms.
They will disagree but they wouldnt hesitate to do the same so let small claims court decide…
