Help - what exactly does 'Search Suppressed' mean?
Email from Amazon - your item is ‘Search suppressed’ - please update relevant attributes.
In my Inventory, item is marked ‘Search Suppressed’
So I Edit the item. Amazon says ‘Size’, ‘Colour’ and ‘Colour Map’ attributes are missing. But they are not. These values have been entered. I try to re-enter them but cannot Save as still got errors messages saying they are missing. I therefore delete the fields. Error message disappears but cannot Save. So I re-enter the values - and now I can Save.
2 days later item is still saying 'Search Suppressed. So I Edit again and lo and behold - the same attributes still have an error saying they are missing when they are clearly not missing.
So I open a case with SS and tell them item is Search Suppressed and attach a screenshot showing that values for the 3 attributes are there but Amazon says they are not.
Get a message back within the hour - we can see your item is active and the case is closed.
I re-open case.
I explain yes I am listed as a seller on the item, and if someone knows the ASIN they can go straight to it - but the item does not show up when a customer does a search as it is ‘Search Suppressed’ and I cannot correct the problem because the user-interface says the 3 attributes are missing when they are clearly not.
Again, get a message back saying the item is active and that I can verify this by clicking on this link (they give me a link which is a direct link to the product via the ASIN)
Is it me or are SS so incredibly thick!!!
- It does not matter the item is active if it does not show up in any search
- Why send me a message saying I need to take action to correct the ‘Search Suppressed’ problem when I am unable to do so
- Why does the user interface say attributes are missing when they are clearly not missing

Is it your own brand registered product, or are you listing on another product?
If it’s your own, then there shouldn’t be any issues updating it, but if it’s another brand, you probably simply can’t update it. As such, only the brand will be able to change and to put it another way, your stuffed!

yes we have had a few of these recently products that have been selling quite happily for years
they have now been search supressed as they dont have a size (they do have a size and have been selling for years) and the customers apparently cannot purchase well they certainly cant now as they cant find them ha ha
the ironic thing is these are branded products where there are 6-10 other sellers which we just added to the listings(we didnt create them) and we have the buy box for most so presumably no one is getting sales utter nonsense

I’ve had this exact issue multiple times, support suggested to me that I should update the listing using a file upload, did this but it didn’t resolve the issue, told seller support that and basically they said nothing they can do…
