Missing images causing suppression

I have 32 listings which I’ve just noticed are suppressed. I check each week for suppressed listings so this has occurred in the last few days.
They all have no image. But when I click edit to check if images exist they do, it’s just that Amazon are choosing to use the “no image” placeholder instead? So the image is there in Seller Central but not on the product page
I’m the only seller on them all and all are brand registered.

Anyone any idea what’s going on?

This has happened to us a few times. If you raise a case with Seller Support, they’ll manually force the images through.

Shouldn’t take long.

This is a very common problem for your own items or for items that have never been in the database or have an incorrect EAN / UPC. First and foremost, I presume your items are not in Handamade (which don’t require an EAN)? Presumably too (as you’ve been able to create a listing), your EAN codes are GS1 registered? If this is the case, you then need to move on to your images themselves to ensure they comply with the sizing, saturation of the page (ie 85% of the page must be the product) and that they have white backgrounds. Having checked all of this, you need to spend a bit of time with them (and it is a faff, but it works), ie:

There are two ways of adding an image, one via the Offer tab and the other on the ‘Description’ tab. Make sure the same main image is showing on both tabs, ie upload twice, one to each tab. Click save. If that doesn’t work, remove the images, add the main image on the ‘Offer’ tab and add a secondary image on the ‘Description’ tab. These things do work because we’ve had to do this ourselves. However, they are not guaranteed to work and if you have to contact seller support then you should do so…but be prepared for a wait for resolution.:slightly_smiling_face:

Well, SS answered quickly but not much help. They said to check image standards which I have done. They also said, for example ASIN xyz123 is 500px x 375px

Now when I go into edit, and find the image and right click and open in new tab, he’s right. It is only 500 x 375. But I think that’t the same whenever you do this for any sized image isn’t it. I still have the source images and they are 1100 x 825.
I can see listings of other products which are in the same group which were photographed and edited at the same time. These have 1100 x 825 zoomable images in the front end and 500 x 375 images in the back end.

So, either seller central backend reduced in the images to 500 x 375, which would make sense to avoid longer loading times. Or, all my images have shrunken in the back end!

Getting that through to SS will be difficult though.

I have exactly the same problem. Like you I’ve uploaded images but Amazon are using “no image”

I opened a case yesterday with SS but as yet not heard anything

I have had this before.
All i did to fix it (on over 50 different listings) was to go in, “Remove Image” and add them again. If it didnt chnage ater 20mins i did it again. All of them were resolved after that and i didnt have to contact them…

If the images are 8-10 years old they are probably too low res for the system these days? You might find it would be a nice time to retake your images in a higher resolution?

you see 10 years ago sites would ask for low res pics to load quickly nowadays they ask for hi res stuff to showcase the items,

I’m getting the same as well - just had 30 sku’s supressed and when I go to the supressed listing report it says missing (if it was a problem with the image I would normally see different message).
Just sent support the report and will see what they say.

Odd as some uk listings are image supressed an the same European listing images are fine - image displayed. Has to be a software bug.

This seems to be a quality issue as more and more images are being picked up by the Bots. It looks like a busy time ahead replacing hundreds, possibly thousands of images that do not match Amazon standards.

I noticed a lot of our products are suppressed due to this image issue now, as if we haven’t enough to contend with! All our product images are from the brand owners/manufacturer’s catalogue and it seems just to be random. As with variations 1 can be suppressed and the rest fine, I have attempted re-uploading but some still say suppressed so figure I ll be wasting my time. I tried doing a search on google (in a private browser/ separate PC, as if I was a customer) the items display and the photos do plus the option to buy the product so obviously another Amazon bug!
