Will be cheaper for you to use pay and go on their site.

You get set contracted rates that vary depending on you sales volume
If you go on the RM website you’ll probably find it’s cheaper to buy it directly from them as Joe public

I haven’t sent anything out for a few months, have been concentrating on prime.
still a cheek though the price. Its as if they don’t want your business.

It’s ridiculous isn’t it. It’s like chicken and egg scenario - I’d send all my items tracked if I could which would amount to tens of thousands a year but they wont give you a good price for that until you can prove you will send that amount but you can’t send that amount because the price they give you is too high!

I don’t think it will be long until Amazon throw their hat in the ring for letters and large letters.

Wowser! You need to negotiate some better rates. I pay £3.38 RM Track 24 upto 1KG.

I’ve had this time and time again with RM. Receive calls or letters saying we don’t send enough, so I tell them they are uncompetitive and DPD/UPS etc do it cheaper. They say they can’t do anything on rates until we send more with them. Another few months go by and they increase the rate still further. Rinse and repeat!
The current madness is that our rate for Tracked Large Letter is ~£1 more expensive that Tracked Parcels, so we just send anything we have to ship with RM Tracked as a parcel, even if it’s an envelope weighing 20g! You couldn’t make it up!

Is your average parcel weight a lot higher than what you thought it would be/what it was previously?
For me they seem to review the avg weight every 3m or so and adjust the pricing.

There’s no rhyme or reason to their pricing. There is clearly a lot of discretion for account managers or some have more sway than others in fighting for their clients. I know of someone who sends less than me tracked (or did) and their rate was £2 less than mine for LL which equated to about a 20% difference. The problem is its in their terms and conditions for you not to discuss pricing with anyone else so I can’t even fight it and try to find out why.

HI there,
they have tried that 3 times with us - and failed on each. In our case they were saying we had not followed our contract - based on their figures… which were wrong. Sadly it is when you have to prove them wrong to hear ‘sorry - a human error’. Funny enough, how close is it to an attempted fraud? They have access to the same figures however they prefer to ‘sample’ and work on those numbers that are in their favour lol
The bottom line is: if it is the same situation please go and crunch your numbers at Click & Drop as well as OBA. Let me know if you need help with it.
