UK = all the same courier costs?

Hello everyone, would any one be able to help me tweek my courier costs template ?

Im finding that it wont let me “up” the cost of postage for the following : Scotland(Aberdeen, Dundee, Falkirk, Outer Hebrides, Inverness, Kirkwall, Kirkaldy, Paisley, Perth, Galashiels, Shetland Islands), Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man

I usually offer free post but the couriers charge alot more for these regions yet I cant seem to add costings onto my listing for them ?

Am I being thick ?

No, you can’t. Unless you can get this to work apparently. YMMV

Unfortunately, as you already found out, Amazon doesn’t allow sellers to charge more for different regions of the UK and there is no way how to get around this.

I can only suggest you to find a carrier who charges the same amount for postage to the entire UK.

Royal mail stuff isn’t a problem, its all the stuff over 1.9kg that royal mail cant handle which is the issue, which is most of my products.

Ill have a look at hermes for highlands stuff, all the islands & N.Ireland will still be a problem but better than nothing.

Seems we’ve finally won and beaten amazon into submission over the uk postage prices, had this from amazon today.

Hello from Amazon Services,

We have listened to feedback that shipping to some locations in the UK can be more expensive than others. To help support your business, we have updated our standard shipping template so you can differentiate your shipping fees by region, if you choose to do so. This change applies to merchant-fulfilled orders only; Prime (FBA and Seller Fulfilled Prime) offers will continue to provide free delivery throughout the UK.

Which regions are included in this change?
Regional shipping applies to addresses in Inverness (incl. Scottish Highlands) and offshore locations (Shetland Islands, Outer Hebrides, Kirkwall, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. You can choose to set different fees (if any) for any of these regions but you are still required to ship to all addresses within the UK.

Remember, delivery is one of the most important parts of the e-commerce experience. A report by Temando (July 2017) suggests that 86% of UK shoppers prefer free over fast delivery. Remember also that customers love low prices. To keep fees low for customers, you can extend transit time through the shipping template settings.

All addresses within England, Wales and Scotland (excluding the regions detailed above) must be charged the same shipping fee (if any).

How can I update my shipping template?
If you are receiving this email, your account has already been migrated to the new template and you can make changes to your shipping fees through Seller Central via Settings > Shipping Settings.

The following actions are examples of seller behaviour that are not permitted:
• Refusing delivery or cancelling orders to certain regions.
• Using product description bullet points to refuse delivery to certain regions or request that customers in certain regions choose ‘express delivery’ in order to collect additional shipping fees.
• Contacting customers to request additional shipping fees after the order has been placed.

For more detail on this policy, please visit our help page here: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/G202167920.

Regards,
Amazon Services Europe
