FBA returns go back to Amazon. After they’ve assessed the condition they’ll usually either put it back into inventory or hold it as unfulfillable. You can then decide what happens to unfulfillable inventory (either return to you or be destroyed).
After receiving a ‘customer damaged’ item back you could take photos of it and request Amazon reimburse you, which is often successful (but not always).

Yep…always do got confirmed item will be returned to me (was an unauthorised purchase) waited best part 30days asked again…Amazon stated they had disposed it but not to worry will get reimbursed on 31st may. I didn’t so asked and was told Amazon have right to dispose of items if they feel it’s damaged!@

I have checked your Amazon store and I can see that you are selling mainly grocery items. These are non-returnable products when FBA and even if your buyers eventually ship them back, Amazon may dispose of them immediately.
This is all mentioned on this relevant Amazon help page:

Then why does amazon return some of the products
and give you the option to get the items returned
and confirm both on phone and email that they will be returning the item
