Original lister has changed description
hi,
I’m not sure how this has happened but we have received an order and the quantity in the description appears
to have '5 pack ’ added to the end of it. The order is now for 3 x 5 pack at £21 per pack and not my price of
£21 each. I can only assume that the original listing has been changed. There is only one seller on there now
and they are priced at £105 . Is this some kind of scam?
thanks, BARRY

Not a scam, but someone has obviously amended the listing.
I would suggest that you get it changed ASAP.
As for the order, ideally you should still ship it. But you can take the hit and avoid possible bad feedback and a hit on your metrics. Entirely up to you as to whether you think it’s worth it or not.

Thanks for the reply. Is there no way for Amazon to check this so that I can avoid sending the order
and losing £240?

Sellers maliciously changing listings to cause problems for their competitors is a common issue.
It is very likely, that the order was placed by the same person who altered the description, so they can then leave you a negative feedback.
There is nothing you can do, only change the listing back by opening a case with the Seller Support and providing evidence supporting the desired updates.
Once everything is corrected, either ship the order or cancel it.

I think Amazon can check from their back end systems who made the revisions (and when) to your ASIN. But you may be waiting a long time to get a reply.
You could try to re-edit the title directly in your Seller Account Inventory back to how it should be - without the need to provide supporting evidence, but that wont change the order you have received.
As Russ said - you can always cancel the order, but then that’s your decision. Or you can write to the buyer explaining the issue / dilemma. Good luck

If the purchase was made by the person who made the change to ‘set you up’ then it many have been done recently.
It might still show in its original form in google cache.
It needs reporting to Amazon:
help > contact us > product page problem > report listing abuse.

thanks for all the replies, Amazon confirmed it had been adjusted but I’m stunned they can’t stop this from happening!!
I spoke to the customer as advised by Amazon and he has agreed to cancel and seemed understanding. If he doesn’t cancel by tomorrow
then I will cancel anyway. I have notified seller performance so hopefully my account wont suffer.

I can’t for the life of me not understand why all sellers on an ASIN are not informed when a change has been made.

Quick point on selling with different quantities in a listing. You can add the quantity for the item you are selling by going to product and in the more details tab look for package quantity and set the amount in there. We have several listings for the same product but 3 different listings for amounts of 1, 5, and 10. The EAN can be the same but as you create the product change the quantity first and that should stop any messages that you are listing the same listing. If the OPs listing is for only 1 then Amazon seller support should change it for you as the person who altered the listing should of made a new listing with the different quantity. Hope this helps.

I had a listing last week change to a pack of 3. I immediately contacted SS and they changed it back to how it was. It did take about 3 days though!
