Shipping from UK to Germany
Hello Guys. I am coming with a small problem and i will much appreciate it if somebody can redirect on the right direction.
I’ve registred VAT in Germany and i created my first shipment. Done EU-EORI number , and all other paperwork that needs to be done.
Because was my first shippment , i’ve called them to double check and they said everything will be fine.
Now, sobody else comes with an email saying , they cannot declare the shipment through me because i am not based in EU and the Customs office required that and i need to find an 3rd party company/Indirect representative which is based in EU to help me with this.
Anyone can advise me one ? or help me with this ?
I used UPS to move the items .

Do you have fiscal representation , importer of record etc ?

The VAT payment on the imported consignment has to be paid by a company based in the Eu. There are companies offering this service but they are very expensive. That is why a large percentage of sellers, including me, abandoned FBA on the European Amazons.

who did you call?
Everyone will say that they can do what you require of them but they make assumptions that you are compliant and know what you are doing.
You need a fiscal rep to accept your goods into Germany, UPS will take of the duties provided you have a German UPS account but it will be the fiscal rep that will ensure compliance and work out the correct duties for UPS to apply.

Hmm, this is a very interesting one. We still ship to Germany usually through Royal Mail but sometimes if the customer requests it via UPS and so far we have not come across any problems like this yet, we do not sell internationally on Amazon as many months ago we hit the block button lol. But we do through Ebay. I guess we will have to wait until we come across this problem and then block Germany on there too! Is it me or does it all seem all a little bit like a punishment?

Many thanks for your answers guys . Thats really helped me.
Now i have 2 options : pay an accountant that sort out VAT in germany and pay a indirect representative to help me with goods and etc. OR 2 de-registred for VAT in germany

Having been on amazon 11 years we pulled out of Europe. Far too much hassle and trying to get VAT import fees back is a nightmare. Good luck

@Micros2u1 We send to France for our PANEU stock. No issues for over a year. No fiscal representation needed in France. VAT is now reverse charged so you have nothing to claim back. So much easier than it was a the beginning of last year.
@dh_cata I do not recommend sending stock to Germany. Too much red tape and expense. France has been a breeze.
