Are Amazon charging for re delivery?
Just had this message from a customer:
‘Received a text saying no answer at the address but I was in. Courier now asking for redelivery charge. This is a Prime order free delivery and I have stated a safe place to leave items so I feel a bit unfair to ask for a charge.’
The tracking details show it as being returned to us which I explained to them.
I have asked them to contact Amazon Customer Service but was wondering if anyone is aware of Amazon introducing a re delivery charge?

Ask her if they provided her with an order delivery and cross reference it

I’ve had this a few years ago as a buyer, though not from Amazon. From memory it was Yodel and they supposedly attempted delivery twice despite me being home and no card being left.
I contacted them and they said that they’d attempted delivery as many times as their contract with the supplier required and so another attempt would require an additional fee.Whilst there was a logic to their argument it also sounded like a way to extract additional fees by pretending to deliver in the first place.
Since the tracking shows it is on its way back to you there’s also a logic to a fee for redirecting back to the buyer. Though i suspect that isn’t Amazon-sanctioned.
