Ungating Beauty & Advice - UK

Hello All,

I hope you are all keeping well and safe.

I would like to know from all the pro’s, when trying to get approval for Health & Beauty (and other categories) - can I still get an invoice from a wholesaler and follow the necessary steps on the application as mentioned from several places. I have read in some places Amazon have an approved wholesaler now and so I may not be able to use the ones a few have previously used some years back.

I have also read that I wouldn’t be able to list products sourced from retailers as “New” ???

I have had my Amazon seller account for about 2.5 years I dabbled in toys initially but life happened and I had to stop. But I would love to get back in the game properly…

There’s limited updated information out here in the UK (unless I’m not looking in the right places!). I am willing to put in the work to reach some business goals I have but I also don’t want to have Amazon refuse my application point blank. Is there any hope in reselling in health and beauty at this point?

I look forward to some advice and pointers!

TIA

Ola

If you buy any item from a retailer the product is no longer new & also you would not be able to provide an invoice if requested risking account suspension.

Another point that hasn’t been mentioned and is pertinent to chiril.matei ill advised advice. If you do get ungated and start selling, if your sales pickup and you are doing well and turning over 2k a week, you will have at least 4k in your account at any point, if your account is suspended the amount in your account will be frozen and you are unlikely to get that back for at least 90 days unless you get the suspension lifted and depending on the reason for your suspension you may have to take Amazon to small claims court to get these funds back, in addition to this if you have sent products into FBA you are unlikely to get these back. To follow chiril.matei advice could turn into a very costly exercise.

Thanks for grilling me here guys:). You don’t need to follow my or anyone’s advice on this matter. I am purely describing my experience as a seller just like all of us.

Hello

Before purchasing any stock I would suggest ensuring the product meets the health and safety requirements and in compliance with the law. Some products contain ingredients which could be harmful. Some products contain flammable solvents which are prohibited such as nail varnishes, nail polish removers paint, spray cans, aerosols, paraffin, white spirt, break fluid, batteries etc are alls HAZMAT. If its an electrical product ensure the plug is three pin. Some products will require a data safety sheet.

Something else to consider is the ingredients of the cosmetic products, some that are allowed in the USA aren’t allowed in the EU and visa versa. You need to be careful where the products are manufactured and where they are going to be sold to and make sure they are compliant to the laws of the region they are to be sold in
