Amazon putting product into variations that make no sense
Recently I believe Amazon has been putting ASINs into variations and it has caused a real mess.
I am Brand Registered for the brand, and have carefully created variations over the years for products that it makes sense for. But now entirely different product lines are showing in the same variation. The detail pages for the parents I created (and which have worked well for years) have no children now, and the children are all just thrown into one giant variation that I definitely did not create.
I am a very experienced seller but have never seen this before.
Can anyone comment on this if you have experience with this issue? Is it Amazon doing this or is there another possibility I am not seeing? Any ideas how to fix this as any updates I have tried do not work.

Unfortunately, Amazon has started doing this on their own. Even contacting Seller Support does not help in getting variations broken up. I'm hoping they see this as a failed experiment after some time. I believe they started this a couple months ago. You can try calling, but unfortunately, it will probably be to no avail.
Best of luck.

Hi there @Seller_3qllv6SY8mdjV- thanks for starting this discussion here on forums. It sounds like you are intimately familiar with the variation wizard and have the correct approvals from the brand owner for these products, but I am including those links in case they prove useful.
I can also suggest using a feed file to make the necessary variation changes if this is something you've not yet attempted, but this sounds like you may need to work with support through the situation. Have you created a case with support yet that I could take a look at?
Thanks!
Danny

Sorry to hear you're having such trouble as well, we have noticed the same issue across dozens of products in our catalog. We're Brand Registered and have opened several cases with SS, after attempting flat file fixes and referencing batch IDs, in an attempt to resolve this issue but have been roadblocked by a common response stating: "we're unable to accept the request because the contribution is owned by Amazon Retail" which leads to no resolution and continued negative customer shopping experience as well.
