SFP Royal Mail Tracked 24 Prices

Just wondering if anyone here has faced the same issue?

My RM Tracked 24 rate is £4.84, inc VAT £5.81. https://send.royalmail.com/ quotes a price of £4.45 for a 1kg Tracked 24 Parcel which appears to include VAT.

My account manager had no idea the general public could get cheaper rates and is checking with his boss but said it is unlikely I will get a lower rate.

I spend £22k a year with Royal Mail yet you can get a much cheaper rate with free collection sending 1 parcel as a non-business customer!!

Same applies for Tracked 48.

Same is true for Special Delivery - it is nearly £2 dearer if I go through my account than if I go onto C&D and buy a regular joe bloggs.

Its silly but unfortunately its common.

I’ve just received an email from hotdeals with this being a limited promotional price through click and drop…

It does say at top of screen that this is a special promotion running from 17/08/22 to 31/10/22 where buying Tracked 24/48 online will be same price as buying 1st/2nd class offline.

But I agree if RM can give such cheap prices to joe public then it should also give same prices to business. It becomes difficult when a customer asks why is my postage price so high when they can see such cheaper alternatives.

My tracked price on my business account is £10.48 compared to £4.45 for joe public rates. Its ridiculous.

yeah they have an offer on currently, but even before the offer it is cheaper to buy it as a standard joe bloggs than as an account customers, stupid.

It was £3.80 (inc vat) for a large letter before the offer.
