Problems with listing title and discription being changed to a different product
Hi Sellers!
I recently sent inventory to FBA under a listing that matched my product. However, two weeks after the inventory was sent, the listing changed to a different product under the same brand.
To avoid customer frustration and potential complaints, I deleted my offer since the product listed no longer matches my inventory. Unfortunately, I now need to pay Amazon to have all 48 units returned to me.
Could you advise on how I might avoid situations like this in the future? Additionally, is there any recourse or exception process for being charged return fees in this case?
Thank you

Did you list the product using the EAN to match the product?

Thank you for your reply,
No, I used Amazon barcodes that matched the listing I wanted the products to go to,
The listing changed literally a couple of days after the inventory was ready for sale, everyone on the listing is screwed at this point

So, when you first purchased the product, you didn't search for the listing using the EAN/barcode number on the product itself? The Amazon barcodes would only be used when sending the product to FBA.
When we first started on Amazon we purchased EAN numbers online for our own products and multi packs we were selling. Unfortunately, even though at the time these were accepted by Amazon, these numbers were not registered with GS1. We have over the years lost these listing because, I presume GS1 have sold or resold these EAN numbers. The listings affected have then changed to a completely different product.
This may be the case here and the original EAN is assigned to a different product.

I did not unfortunately I normally analyse listings that already exist and copy the ASIN, how do you search for listings using EAN? Just enter it instead of ASIN in "add products"?
Thank you for your help, it's truly appreciated!

The only way to be as sure as you can be that you are on the correct listing is to search for the EAN number and then you still need to check that all the details match your product. Doing it any other way is not only the wrong way to do it but could lead to all sorts of problems further down the line, as you have found out.

Thank you
How can I search for the EAN number? it's not clear to me
Many thanks

The EAN numbers would be under the barcode on the product packaging. It may be an idea for you to take a look at Seller University, there is a link to it at the bottom of your seller central page.

I know what EAN is and where to find it, this is not what I'm asking.........
I can see now I can search for the product using EAN instead of ASIN as I assumed.
Don't worry I spent enough time in Seller University and will spend more if I need to.
Many thanks

Same, we have 2 listings that have been altered to completely different items, one is a puzzle now saying its a learning book, another a game thats is apparently now a colouring book. Cannot get Amazon to fix these at all.
