product and brand names are different
I have found a product that is under a different brand name. the product images and name are correct but is under a brand name that is related to a totally different category. it also has multiple sellers to isn't private label, can I sell on the listing or will this risk violating counterfeit regulations? Also wanted to add that the EAN on the product listing on Amazon and the distributor match up. Many thanks.

It likely means someone has incorrectly had the brand changed so you run the risk of issues especially if you're asked for invoices. If the EAN is linked to it, you can try seller support but I've never had any luck getting them changed

Hello @Seller_m1NPRWmQmxXkI!
Welcome on Seller Forums.
As advised by @Seller_RlZVPg3d6ZUGP, using a standard product identifier (like ISBN, UPC, and EAN) when submitting your products is a best practice as it is most important and reliable piece of data in the matching process. Please refer to Match your products for more information.
If you see that the product matches EAN but the brand attribute is not correct, I would suggest you to open a case with Seller Support.
Best.
